The Impact of Reason and Sensibility Origami Bar is located in the middle of Huaihai Road, and the owner is a young man with a full score of "alcoholism". As a place for emotional communication and catharsis, we wanted to keep the space as restrained and rational as possible, treating it as a pure container. We borrowed the shape of origami and integrated geometric triangular elements into the space design. As the whole building is a historical conservation building, the yellow metal panels on the facade need to be preserved. On this basis, the main entrance has been reduced and a section of the partition wall has been added in order to eliminate the visual interference of the yellow metal panels on the entrance area. The left side is planned as a smoking area and the right side as a bar entrance. By reducing the scale of the entrance, the area is made more private and attractive. Above the entrance, an orange breathing circular soft film light is designed and set in constant mode to attract pedestrians to stop and provide a warm visual sensation for night time pedestrians. The glass window area on the right side of the facade is subdivided into two parts, where seating is provided for pedestrians to stay for a short time, while customers can enjoy the relaxing outdoor atmosphere with a glass of wine, reinforcing the coherence of the indoor and outdoor spaces and the interaction of the overall environment. The overall shape of the interior and the materials used in the space are all based on origami as the core of the design to ensure the harmony and unity of the space. The design of the ceiling molding aims to hide M&E equipment such as air conditioning and lighting as much as possible, while showing the texture of the building itself. In the ceiling design, through the combination of molding and lighting, the light and shadow also present a triangular geometric form.
